Oral history, 1986.

Interview conducted by Alan Cherry as part of the LDS Afro-American Oral History Project of the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University on 7 October 1986. Johnson discusses his early family life and religious experiences in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and his career as a teacher and musician. He talks of his life during the 1930's depression, his time in the military during World War II, and his conversion to the Mormon Church and its influence on his life.
